“Somehow I always end up in confrontational situations trying to help the person in need. I remember a few years ago I saw this item on the news about a man who got stabbed in the back by a few men for absolutely no reason. While this happened, nine people were standing there in a circle basically watching him get killed. None of them tried to do something to help him. My mum is very concerned about me. She always tells me to walk away from those kind of situations. I understand her concern but never in my life do I want to be one of those nine people.”
“What is the relationship between you three?”
“One is my boyfriend, one is my footstool.”
“As an immigrant people sometimes expect you to be small minded about the way other people live their life. One time someone tried to provoke me by cursing with the word ‘gay’ just to see if I would react aggressively. But just because that’s not my life style doesn’t mean I need to judge or hate someone else for it. You could marry a squirrel and it still would be none of my business.”
“The Tulip was an exotic flower in the golden era. The flower originates from Turkey and when it arrived in the Netherlands they were rare and extremely expensive. A tulip was the kind of flower you could actually make a statement with. You cannot imagine the kind of prices people would pay for a single tulip. The most expensive Tulip ever was named the Semper Augustus. It was worth around 10.000 guilders. For that same amount of money you could buy a canal house in the most expensive area in Amsterdam.”
“What was the happiest moment of your life?”
“If you really want me to answer that question, I would at least need two months to think about the answer.”
